tips & tricks the Dartman

Where do I aim when throwing cricket?

If this is a question you ask yourself this may be the answer. We asked a high profile local soft tipper the same question. Jack DeGrosse, anchor and team captain of the bay area's "Triple Threat" team for the past several years, has been tossing darts for almost 20 years. Jack has led "Triple Threat" on many local tournament and league wins, and also amassed a reputable record on the military circuit at numerous installations. Here is how Jack answered our question:

I strongly believe in the old adage of "practice, practice, practice." In the game of darts practice is necessary to improve your game. The way I practice to "aim" is simple. I start with the 20's and throw five or six rounds at the center, or triple, ring. Then I move throughout all of the numbers on the board in clockwise order. By "aiming" at the triple it helps the mechanics of your throw to hit the target. Since the triple is the smallest target of each number this improves accuracy. It also help with "fall-out" into the single score area.

I also practice this excercise several hours a week as well as my regular practice routine.
